Applications for the 2027 Graduate Program are now closed.

Our next Graduate program starts in February 2027.

The program runs for 2 years over a series of ‘rotations’ to explore different areas of the business. This is a full time role from day one – equipping you with the experience, knowledge and networks you need to succeed. After the two years, you’ll roll off the program and continue to grow your career within Optus as a permanent member of the team.

We know the best ideas come from unusual collaborations, unheard voices and those who think differently. The Optus Graduate program treats skills and experience as something to be nurtured, rather than a barrier for entry. To be eligible for our program, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Have completed an Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's degree (or higher) or TAFE Certificate level qualification in 2024, 2025 or expect to complete your final subject by December 2026, inclusive of any internships or work experience placements required for graduation. 
  • Be available to commence full‑time in February 2027.
  • Be able to work primarily from our Macquarie Park campus in Sydney.

March

  • Applications Open: Complete an online application form.
  • Video Interview: Eligible candidates will be invited to complete a Video Interview and Gamification Assessments.
  • Phone Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a phone interview with a Talent Acquisition team member.

April

  • Assessment Centre: If progressed, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre at our Macquarie Park Campus in Sydney.

May

  • Final Interview: Successful candidates will progress to final round interviews with our business leaders. (where required).

June

  • Offer: Offers will be extended following successful completion of pre-employment checks.

Our starting salary is above the market average. Details of remuneration and our bonus structure will be discussed throughout the recruitment process. We also offer a wide range of rewards and benefits outside of your salary.

Optus’ approach, ‘Blended Ways of Working’ allows our people to truly connect and collaborate with purpose whilst sharing problems, celebrating wins, learning and networking. All team members are expected to be onsite at campus at least three (3) days per week in a predictable pattern. This includes ‘OptUs Day’ (Wednesday), your Business Unit (BU) day and an additional day that suits your team. The other two days of the week you can choose where you wish to work, depending on the needs of your role. Make sure you consider your team members in this decision too. On occasion there are also in-person ‘moments that matter’ on-campus, for which you’ll be expected to join.
